Art Paris
At the eleventh ARTPARIS, the Liu Dao art collective was represented by Galerie Loft and Galerie Twenty-one in order to bring the alluring electric orientalism from the Paris of the East to the one in the West.
Few festivals compare with ARTPARIS, which brings well over a hundred contemporary art galleries from all corners of the world into the 72,000 m2 of the Grand Palais. Liu Dao joined the list of exhibiting artists where invention, wit, color and joie de vivre swam along the currents of international assortment.
Two artworks, "Memories of Spring" and "The Tree of Wishes", were selected as a pair to display Liu Dao's profound capacity for tenderness, featuring two paper cuts of nature that appears to take on a spirit of its own with LED birds fluttering through the branches of the scenes. The multimedia essence of Liu Dao's productions fit neatly into ARTPARIS '09's successful task of filling the Grand Palais with an array of styles and mediums adequately explaining the breadth of artistic vision occurring in the past 200 years and today. |
