BLURB

Have you noticed it yet? Not quite hidden, yet often overlooked. Right under that everyday routine that you’ve fallen into. Flickering in and out of perception the same way a neglected streetlamp in need of repair endlessly and quietly begs for attention before being passed-by for the 1000th time that night. You’ll find it only a short stroll from the intersection of banal boulevard and mundane way. As Barbara Kruger once said, “There!” Well, I’m sure she said that at least once. It’s influence. No, not the sense of divine serenity and contemplation after listening to one of Chopin’s compositions. Not the surge of adrenaline from your attractive personal trainer yelling at you in the gym. Not the desire to be better person after watching the local news broadcast of a neighborhood hero saving 12 cats from a burning tree— How did they all end up there anyway? I’m talking about the limitations imposed on your life by the torrent of ordinary moments that have subtly shaped you. You might forget by the time you reach the next busy intersection, but for a moment, that flickering light will remind you. Remind you not to think where it is that you’re headed, but to reflect on… *BEEP! BEEP!* THIS RED-SHIRTED ASSHOLE THINKS HE CAN CUT ME OFF?! [Mychaelangelo Norkus]
