"Goddamned Shanghai"

Joel Barker

Joey "Spatz" McGirlfriend (if this is too weird call me Joey "Spatz" MacJones) 'Spatz' grew up in a turn-of-the-century bawdy house in the east London slums. After losing all the toes in his right foot in a game of 'dice n' slice' he lost his job as a two-bit pedlar. He quit town and caught a slow boat to Hong Kong to seek his fortune taking only his trademark shoes and a ukulele stolen from as then rising British musical hall star George Formby. 'Spatz' braved the long voyage with a terrible amount of cheap, bathtub made London Gin. This simultaneously induced a deep coma and perfectly preserved 'Sptaz'' physical body. He was found decades later in an unopened cargo container in the Shanghai docks. He now makes a meagre living busking near subways and eating small bits of food polite people leave on their plates at restaurants. He was forced to sell his distinctive foot ware to buy cigars and a hair cut.

Joel is a proud volunteer at island6.
