BLURB

Most numbers don’t mean a thing. Even when they do they don’t. Pi is 3.14…. and then I’m not sure but it goes on forever. It’s important I’ve been told. But it’s not. A googolplex is a strange one as well. It’s 1010100. Ten to the tenth power to the hundredth power. This is a big number. It means something. The scientists who gave it a name also came to the conclusion that if you were to write this number in long form, you wouldn’t be able to because there isn’t enough space in the known universe to write all the zeros. How much meaning can a number have if it’s that abstract? Might as well go on forever, but it doesn’t. It has to end somewhere you or I won’t ever see. People always look for hidden meanings in things that likely don’t have it, but ignore most of the real hidden gems that were so delicately planned and placed. Like how maybe you did or didn’t notice that the title of this work looks and sounds like a certain number. Or that the teapot depicted therein looks like that same number. Or how the size of the work is also that same number by that same number, which also happens to have a lot to do with the theme of the show you’re probably at right now. The best part about that number (and all numbers really) is that there’s something inside them that just goes on forever. You can cut them in half again and again and again. Infinite things come out of the smallest finite ones sometimes. You just have to know where to look. [Ryan Nimmo]
