SH Contemporary Art Fair 2011
island6 art collective was represented at SHContemporary in Shanghai by Red Gate Gallery from September 7th-10th, 2011.
Red Gate Director Brian Wallace and Manager Liyu Yeo 杨来耀 presented fifteen hanging and freestanding multimedia installations from island6 to showcase the best of the Shanghai-based group’s recent work. Taking place in the beautiful Shanghai Exhibition Center, SHContemporary finished its fifth year already, and for the first time under the directorship of Massimo Torrigiani.

90 galleries (50% Chinese, 30% from other Asian countries, 20% from the EU and the U.S.) and institutions took part, with over 30 individual artists' projects, 300 invited international collectors and over 35.000 visitors.
SHContemporary 2011 had 3 main sponsors – Porsche China, Swatch and Absolut Vodka – each presenting new art-related projects.
The 5th edition of the fair celebrated the emerging Asia Pacific art worlds with a selection of top Chinese galleries and other Asian and Western galleries including, among others, Beijing Art Now, Beijing Commune, Boers-Li, Continua, Eigen+Art, James Cohan, Lin & Lin, Long March, Nature Morte, Pace Beijing, Pearl Lam Fine Art, Pékin Fine Arts, Red Gate, Shanghai Gallery of Art, Shanghart, Star Gallery, Tang Contemporary, Tina Keng, Triumph Art Space, White Space… and a selection of young galleries participating at SH Contemporary for the first time.
