"The Art Of Living"
Taking a short departure from the consumptive modernity of Shanghai life, island6 momentarily relocated to Bangkok for a couple of days of old world grandeur with a contemporary twist. Alongside other contemporary artists and designers, island6 was invited by Lotus Arts de Vivre (LAdV), to take part in the exclusive exhibition “The Art of Living”, in the aptly named Theatre of Indulgence.
Lotus Arts de Vivre is a Thailand-based company creating unique jewelry and home decoration pieces, as well as more original luxury designs. Founded thirty years ago by Helen von Bueren, LAdV remains a family business dedicated to artistic creativity and the incorporation and reinterpretation of the traditions of South East Asia.
In “The Art of Living”, LAdV explore the integration of art and life through the medium of interior design and home furnishing. The juxtaposition LAdV’s creative reinterpretation of traditional materials and technologies with island6’s own trademark engagement with modernity in both form and content contributed towards the success of an exhibition which brought together artists, designers and enthusiasts.
