Yeung Sin Ching 杨倩菁
Yeung Sin Ching was born and raised in Hong Kong. She finished the BTEC Higher National Diploma in Fashion and Textiles at Caritas Bianchi College of Careers in Hong Kong. She started her professional life at Talent Agency as a scout for one year. In November 2010 she moved to Shanghai to join island6, where she currently wears many hats. As General Manager, Sin Ching worked closely with curators and other artists co-organised several exhibitions, including in-house shows in Shanghai such as Goddamned Shanghai, The Secret Collection of Yüan Meng Ch'ien as well as Dripping with Aurum in island6's new Hong Kong space. Sin Ching has already co-ordinated island6's shows with partner galleries and art fairs, most recently Wired Blossoms and Electric Angels with Red Gate Gallery at Opposite House Beijing.
As a performer with many years of experience, especially in classical Chinese dance and contemporary movement, Sin Ching is instrumental in the creative concept behind many island6 artworks, and contributes her expertise in choreography and performance. Some of these works include "Tip Toe Tram" and "Sanya Vibe". Sin Ching also works with paper-cutting and videography in island6 works. In September 2011, she joined island6's board of directors.
