BLURB
“We crave for new sensations but soon become indifferent to them. The wonders of yesterday are today common occurrences” -Nikola Tesla
Wardenclyffe Tower once stood at 187-feet high in the center of 200 acres of land in Shoreham, Long Island. The steel pillar was a dream coming to fruition for Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla. Tesla’s idea was both speculative and revolutionary! Free electrical power to the entire world! A global, wireless system for communication and energy using a network of towers around the globe. Electric power would be ubiquitous. The project would prove difficult, Tesla’s grand vision quickly exceeded his resources and he lost patrons. The unfinished Wardenclyffe Tower, standing like a relic of a brilliant idea, was demolished in 1917. A huge defeat but this wouldn’t be the end of the bright inventor. In 1931, he made the cover of Time magazine, which featured his illustrious creations. You see, life will try to shock you in more ways than one, but it’s up to you to keep the current flowing. There’s a Chinese proverb that goes, “water drops pierce stone” (水滴石穿), meaning perseverance is key to having that “eureka!” moment.
