"Hello Monte Carlo" (你好蒙特卡洛)
"Hello Monte Carlo" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
I found this car in a ditch under the dirt of four decades. The paint was worn off and I couldn’t see the numbers. "Rallye Monte-Carlo", that much I figured, but apart from that, nothing was in it, no engine, no tires, no seats, nothing, just a rusty old can, a shell of a turtle. It was perfect. I covered it with mud again before the scavengers could find and sell it to restore the MG to its former glory or maybe just for the metal. We came back in the evening and were dragging it down the highway every evening for five consecutive days, burying it again and again every morning and digging it out every evening. It has become our favorite. It is a winner, she smiled at me when we finally dragged it in the warehouse. We have one week, I said, before the day, but she convinced me that we needed at least a month. We can survive until then, I thought, and, after all, we need a pompous march for our last job. Because robbery can be an art form, just like everything else.
