"Hungry Hugger" (贪心小丑)
"Hungry Hugger" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
Clowns awaken our imaginations and pique our curiosity, transporting us back to colorful childhood memories. They pervade art history, the earliest documented jesters going back to ancient Egypt around 2500 to 2400 BCE. Still always changing and adapting continuously inspiring modern artists like American painter Wayne Thiebaud who at 99 years old unveiled a series of paintings and works depicting our favorite circus character. Ordinary and marvelous, whimsically insane creatures with that always unfamiliarly familiar grin. Going back to the incarnation of the medieval fool in the Middle Ages, the purpose was to entertain and bring joy to the King and his guests. Clowns make people feel good about themselves. Perhaps they remind us of simpler times, acting as a delicious distraction to finally satiate our hunger for laughter and glee. A scrumptious dish that will always hit the mark!
