"Infinity March" (无限行军)
"Infinity March" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
Why is this happening, day after day? This one-way surface is cryptic, almost melting my uniformed body into the walls. Where am I?
The wall between us is so thin, but the distance it creates is huge. When I’m off, you only see yourself and I become invisible... When I’m on, this barrier disappears and I am whole again and suddenly in motion. HUT 2-3-4 SALUTE 2-3-4! I am like your puppet.
Thomas Nagel has his own theory of consciousness. Instead of asking “What is like to be a bat?” he would probably ask “What is it like to be a little animated woman inside of an artwork?” His likely conclusion: no matter how hard you try to imagine what it’s like, you will never actually know how it feels. But I imagine that some would know exactly how it feels, this soldiering on and about for eternity. You know, I’ve started to be OK with this long march. Barry Schwartz was right about being “satisficed”. Sometimes a good march is just…good enough. I guess I’ll make a home here. Do you think the kuaidi will be able to find me?
