"No Room to Swing a Cat(无立锥之地)
"No Room to Swing a Cat" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
Corny folks passing under blue trees, queens still in good shape, all the hep cats frisking their whiskers. The stage is ready. “You look beat”, they say, but all I can tell is I’ll play it hot. The chick on the right corner falls out when I take the first solo. “It’s a mess”, they say. “It’s a beautiful mess”. I take off several times a night. I go over, a bit nervous. “What’s your story?” I ask the girl, but she just smiles. “Just swing it”, she says. “You are swingin’ it alright”. But I’m thinking, where should we go next? She says, “I’ve got it all written down here”. But her bible is not my bible. It’s written but I can’t read it. I show it to the blues, I show it to the greys, they can’t read it. “You must be from somewhere else”. I look at her. She nods, and I realize I can’t even understand what she says. “Get your ass back here”, they yell, but I’m like, just one more bite. “Where are you from?” I ask, “and what’s this uniform?” Or we can talk about something completely different.
