"Qian Qiu" (千秋)
"Qian Qiu" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
I had a dream that I could fly from the highest swing, just like the figures in the paintings of Marc Chagall. It felt so real that I couldn't shake the feeling even after waking up. The sensation of weightlessness lingered in my body, and as I walked outside, I couldn't help but gaze up at the sky, wondering if maybe, just maybe, my dream was a premonition of things to come. I spent the rest of the day in a daze, feeling both exhilarated and unnerved by the possibility that my dream might actually hold some sort of significance. Was I wrong? Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, often spoke of the illusory nature of dreams, believing "Life is a dream, death is waking up." He implied that our experiences in life are fleeting and impermanent. An illusion, a dream. He emphasized the importance of transcending these fantasies in order to connect with a more enduring reality, the Tao. Lao Tzu saw the world as being in a constant state of flux and change, with no stable or permanent existence. He believed that our perceptions of reality are shaped by our own consciousness, and that our experiences in life are ultimately insubstantial and ephemeral. Who knows what may come of it, but for now, I am content to live in the moment and pursue my dreams, wherever they may take me. I will fly from the highest swing!
