Dear Thumper,
I know we’ve both had a long day so I’ll try and make this quick. Your behavior interferes with your work life, your social life, and most alarmingly, my life. For years I’ve treated your various quirks as my closest companions – the carrot nibbling, the senseless hopping, always eating the flowers and leaving me with just the greens – but this I simply cannot pretend to ignore any longer. It’s not only me who’s noticed, the other animals in the forest have mentioned it and have expressed their concern.
We’ve known each other a long time, you and I, so the least we can do is be civil about this. The foot-thumping has to stop. You’ve done it since the day I met you, and frankly, I’m not entirely sure why you do it. Is it because you feel like it is part of your identity? I know this is asking a lot of you, so perhaps we can reach some kind of compromise.
Please reply ASAP so I know you’ve read this. Know that it doesn’t have to be this way. Change is possible.
Your Deer Friend
