"Sight In Flight" (飞行中的风光)
"Sight In Flight" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
So often when going about our busy and distracted daily lives, we forget to look up. Our biology dictates that dangers most likely exist at ground level, so our instincts most often keep our attention there. We don’t live in that dog-eat-dog world anymore, so I trained myself to gaze toward the sky as much as possible. Of course, I wasn’t great at first. I didn’t notice very much that was interesting, and the sun is a cruel mistress even to the most honest of curious eyes. But practice makes perfect, so despite the risk of photokeratitis I pressed on, and how glad I am that I did! I saw all sorts of birds, apartments lit like spattered paint, and the many lives of individual trees. Occasionally, I found eyes staring back at me. I often got the sense from them that I was encroaching on their dominating secrecy, somehow taking it from them. What lesson did I learn? In painting a dragon, one must dot the eyes.
