"The Vain Struggle of Man in the Pursuit of Wealth" (人类追求财富的徒劳斗争)
"The Vain Struggle of Man in the Pursuit of Wealth" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
Imagine life as an endless cycle of events. That the repetitive actions recurring each day are not only tricks of the universe, not only déjà vu, but only what we make out of our lives. That’s it. Even though it’s soothing to believe in another universe or two where everything happens differently, who has the power to look beyond the curtain and say “I’m good. I’ve done it all.”? Until we can become one with all of our possible selves, we must do everything to make this version the best. Now, if this is the driving force in each of us, the bad news is a self-similar universe will likely produce us multiple times in similar ways. It means the lucky ones are lucky in infinite numbers, and the unlucky ones… well, they might want to get lost in metric space. Making art, making love, making money, we can’t get any better or worse. We just exist to experience our roles. The only question here is that, if a vertical dimension represents time and a horizontal one represents space, how many times and in what sequence are we going to disappear and be born again?
