"Colors in my Head" (在我的头上着色)
"Colors in my Head" by island6 Art Collective (Liu Dao)
// BLURB //
Some of my patients have had the most interesting mental disorders. Schizophrenic and sociopathic people walked into my office, pretending they had no problem at all. Wannabe psychologists knocked on my door, just to take the Rorschach test out of curiosity. There was one patient of mine, however, a young medical student who found that the scores, and my interpretation surprisingly matched her personality perfectly. My interpretation! She came back and we started to draw for each other every Saturday, rather inaccurately appropriating the tools of Hermann Rorschach's inkblot test. We bought ink together and spent hours and hours painting the most abstract, meaningless and ambiguous shapes. After we ran out of paper, we splashed ink on the walls of my office with our eyes closed. We saw dancing crocodiles and Santa Claus even in our dreams. We went outside in the evening to spray scribbles everywhere, which were, from a purely non-scientific perspective, the most disordered Pollockian portraits of both of us. We changed science to art. Needless to say, the police didn’t think so. “What were your motivations?” they asked. We gave the most obvious of answers: you’ll find everything you want to know somewhere splashed among all that ink.
